Okay, spring is around the corner and that can only mean one thing, Spring break! Immediately you must think about a tropical paradise, hot weather, beach and sun lotion and that’s wonderful! There certainly are many destinations you may enjoy.

You can also may have the idea to go somewhere out of the country but let’s get real, it isn’t always possible. So let’s revisit and revise some great places in the country where you can still have an awesome family Spring break, perfect for bonding!

Hilton Head Island

It is a 12 mile long island located in South Carolina. The island is known for its sandy beaches, golf courses and bike paths. If you are a sports enthusiast the island is a heaven for you, there are many sporting events throughout the year. You and your family can stay at the Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, it combines the local charm with fun outdoor activities for the entire family.  Don’t miss the Harbour town Lighthouse which is an island’s icon.

New York City

You can skip beach on Spring break and hit the “Big Apple” and have a good time with your family. It is easy to find something to do for all ages. Of course you’ll have to visit all the famous landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Empire State Building. There’s a lot to do in New York, go and enjoy a Broadway play, visit a museum, and do some shopping!


Despite being the third largest Hawaiian island and a crowded one, Oahu is still family-focused with plenty of activities. You can learn to ride waves in Waikiki or stroll around Chinatown. The island is known as “The Gathering Place” which gives you an idea of how popular it is. If you are into history you must visit Pearl Harbor and the royal family’s residence “Iolani Palace”.  A Hawaiian vacation can be a bit pricey but it totally worth it.

San Antonio

Okay, maybe you don’t think about San Antonio as your first option for Spring break vacation, but there are lots of entertaining activities for you and your family. You can’t say you visited San Antonio if you don’t stop by the River walk. There is a huge variety of restaurants with all types of food and plenty of shops to spend all day long wandering around. San Antonio is home of five missions which include The Alamo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But if you are looking for something more exciting, go and have fun at Six Flags or Sea World.


Carlsbad is one of the best Spring break spots for families in California. The place holds a little bit of everything, from spectacular beaches to wonderful zoos, from interesting museums to fantastic theme parks. The small city is located between San Diego and Los Angeles and you’ll be surprised with all Carlsbad Village has to offer to vacationers. The Carlsbad Village Antique Mall is famous for its unique vendors where you can find countless treasures.

So, as you can see these are only five places from many others around the country to spend your Spring break vacation without all the bustle and craziness of college students!
